Lovely Teena Marie

Mary Christine Brockert, better known by her stage name Teena Marie (March 5, 1956 – December 26, 2010) was an American singer, songwriter and producer. Marie, nicknamed Lady Tee, (sometimes spelled Lady T), was a protégée of funk legend Rick James, and was notable as one of the few successful white performers of R&B and the first white person to be signed to the Motown record label in 1979. She played rhythm guitar, keyboards and congas. She also wrote, produced, sang and arranged virtually all of her songs since her 1980 release, Irons in the Fire, which she said was her favorite album. She had a daughter, Alia Rose, who, as of 2009, sang under the name Rose LeBeau. Marie died of natural causes on Sunday, December 26, 2010, at home in Pasadena, California.

Teena was loved and respected by the black community for her soulful sound and her love of black people. She was a wonderful person and wonderful entertainer.

I Love A Good Hot Breakfast, Don't You?

“My question is what poor excuse for a parent can’t rustle up a bowl of cereal and a banana? I just don’t get why millions of school children qualify for school breakfasts unless we have a major wide spread problem with child neglect. If that’s how many parents are incapable of pulling together a bowl of cereal and a banana, then we have problems that are way bigger than — that problem can’t be solved with a school breakfast, because we have parents who are just criminally … criminally negligent with respect to raising children.”

Another example of when conservatives lose touch with realities of poverty. Katie O'Beirne thinks poor people can simply put groceries on a credit card like she does and that's the end of the story. People can't even pay the rent much less the credit card bill. Has she seen the cost of a box of cereal and the cost of bananas? Can a kid get a little milk with that too? These heartless conservatives don't even want to help poverty stricken American children, how much less the parents.

Plutocracy

We are brow beaten when we complain, we are called class envy liberals, they say we hate the rich, they protest that only the rich create jobs so the rich deserved to continue to become richer while the rest of us become poorer. Who are "they" you ask? They are the Republicans and those whom they have fooled.
