Glenn Beck's Hit List: Larry Sharpe

A whimsical look at the ridiculous accusations and charges Fox News contributor Glenn Beck makes. This is an exaggerated parody of his unfounded statements.

I assure you, neither myself, my family, or any of my friends are out to destroy America. Though I would be extremely uncomfortable and greatly displeased living in a Glenn Beck America.

Bringing In the Dead (Republicans) Part II

I'm archiving the health care debate between Democrats and Republicans to remember how it was handled. Jon Stewart's video captures the idiocies that are playing out during the process. It's so funny it's sad.

With Compassion Comes Health Care

On February 24th edition of Countdown with Keith Olbermann, Keith gave a powerful performance in his Special Comments segment of the show. I set amazed at the subject and his heartfelt delivery. I was glad but not surprised that my friend Linda Casares, a frequent Facebook contributor, added her wit and comment acknowledging Olbermann's powerful story;

"KEITH OLBERMANN: I watched in awed silence last night as Keith spoke about his Dad in the hospital. Anyone who's ever combed the sterile halls of a hospital, while keeping frantic vigil over a loved one, will resonate with his message about his father! His passion, dedication, & ability to "tell it like it is", make hi...m a CHAMPION in my book. We stand united in honoring your compassionate ordeal Keith!~Linda-ism~"

You must watch in it's entirety and with open mindedness to appreciate Olbermann's message.

How American Is Hate? How Nobel Are Tea Party Rallies?

I wonder what the Colonist from the original Boston Tea Party of 1773 would think of the most recent group of angry citizens using their name to demean the government of America. It was the noble activities of the original Tea Party that started the long heroic beginnings of our great American governance. Can we really say in all honesty the new Tea Party is noble?

We the people are not perfect, a perfect example of our imperfections is the latest version of the original Tea Party.

Who Raised the Tax On Tea Again!

I cannot stop racism. I can only add to the chorus of people who either affirm or deny it exist. I sing to the tune of it's existence. No, it's not as blatant as it was in America's past history. It does not boil over from angers heat of segregationist of the South, but racism comes up more subtly cold like the froth on a cold glass of beer. At worst it appears as the white stuff in the corner of the mouths of those people yelling "I want my country back". Oh yes, racism still exists. You can smell it at Tea Party rallies, the creation of Barack Obama's election.

The Honorable (R)Sen. Corporation, Inc.

In the 1970s, Justices William H. Rehnquist and Byron R. White said business corporations were "creatures of the law," capable of amassing wealth but due none of the rights of voters.

Under the John Roberts Supreme Court five out of the nine Justices willfully overturned Justice Rehnquist ruling. In the Citizens United vs. Federal Election Commission decision a new precedence was set that will have potential dire consequences for elections. Under the cloak of "Freedom of Speech" corporations have been given the same rights as individual citizens. Corporations now have the right to donate and campaign for any politician they decide to purchase. Curiously all five Supreme Court Justices responsible for overturning the Rehnquist ruling were either appointed by the Reagan administration, or were lawyers in his administration.

Keith Olbermann explains what could and is likely to happen because of this ruling. Olbermann does a masterful job giving an imaginary reality that could become horribly true.

Bringing In the Dead (Republicans)

Just for the record. I wanted to post this video for future reference of the opposition to Health Care for all Americans by the Republican party. The Republicans, in their quest to satisfy the insurance corporations and defeat President Obama's efforts to bring health care to those who cannot now afford it, are working against the interest of all Americans. Our health care system is in peril, not because of actual performance of dispensing health care, but the rising cost associated with it. Americans now cannot afford a health care policy without contributions from their employers. The cost of contributions to employers are rising forcing some employers and companies to either close or export jobs abroad. People who do not have employer subsidized health insurance cannot afford to insure themselves or their families. When a person or family has a major health care issue, they are vulnerable to becoming completely bankrupt, even losing their homes.

If a person has personal or employer subsidized health care insurance coverage, it is no guarantee they will be insulated from financial destruction. As it is now, insurance companies use tactics to deny coverage for particular procedures, or drop your coverage due to preexisting conditions as they may determine. You are at the mercy of the insurance industry's decisions on your health care coverage. You should remember, the insurance companies are interested in their bottom line, not your EKG line.

President Obama and most of the Democrat political leaders are trying to educate the public and convince the right wing Republican party to join them in efforts to provide a government run health care system with a public option to provide real competition to the existing health care insurance companies. The Republicans and a few conservative Democrats are in opposition to a plan that would overhaul the health care system and benefit those Americans that simply cannot afford health care coverage. Health care insurance companies have bought off most of the conservative politicians and are paying them to obstruct any change in the system that would benefit those Americans in need of assistance.

After a year long battle to construct a new health care coverage plan that would be bi-partisan, the Republicans have been steadfast against it. They are claiming they were not consulted or that any of their ideas were being used. The Republicans have been asked all through the process to contribute meaningful ideas, but they only wanted to obstruct. Now that President Obama is calling them out on their obstruction and offering to sit down with them in a public televised forum, they yet come up with futile efforts to not cooperate.

The video shows how Republicans really don't want to cooperate and it also dismisses their idea that universal health coverage will not work. They unknowingly have their meeting to organize opposition to government run health care in Hawaii, a state that has government run health care.

Rep. John Murtha: A Gallant American Warrior

Rep. John Murtha, the first Vietnam War combat veteran to serve in Congress and a powerful advocate for both the military and for the interests of his Pennsylvania district, died Monday at the age of 77. Mr. Murtha, a Democrat, had recently undergone gall bladder surgery.

Mr. Murtha chaired the Appropriations Subcommittee on Defense and was a vocal opponent of the Iraq war. He spoke out against the war and changed the Congressional attitude towards the effort.

Republicans joined Democrats in paying tribute to Mr. Murtha's long service, military record and support for the Pentagon. "I have never seen a more valiant defender of the men and women of our armed forces, nor a more steadfast advocate for our country's unequaled national defense," said Rep. Jerry Lewis (R., Calif.), the top Republican on the House Appropriations Committee.

"Jack Murtha was a giant," Ms. Pelosi said. "All who served with him were honored to call him colleague. I was privileged to call him friend."

I would also like to add, when he spoke out against the ill fated Iraq war, I was very proud of him for doing so. No one could say he was unpatriotic or weak. He was a man of his own convictions who was not afraid to stand up in the face of criticism. I respect Mr. John Murtha.
